“Famous sudanese signer dies in Cairo - Sudanese singer and composer, Zaydan Ibrahim died Saturday at the age of 68 years from liver complications in Egypt, the official Sudan Radio reported from Cairo, Egypt.
Zaydan, known mostly in Sudan, Chad, Niger, Nigeria and Cameroon, Eritrea and Ethiopia, was born in Omdurman in 1943.Popularly called ‘Brown Nightingale’, he drew his fame from romantic songs in Arabic and his stylish stage performance and was awarded the state Star of Merit on Literature and Fine Arts in 1976.” -Afrique en ligne
